Our Mental Health and Wellbeing degree is outlined to give you the knowledge and skills to identify, understand and respond creatively to the various factors that influence mental health and wellbeing. This will enable students to pursue careers supporting individuals, their communities, organisations, and society to maintain and promote mental health and wellbeing. Throughout the programme, students will develop a solid foundation of skills that are essential to effective mental health and wellbeing practice for successful graduate career. With ethical practice at its core, this degree is structured to provide students with the knowledge and skills essential for working in diverse range of mental health and wellbeing services and making positive differences to the lives of individuals and their communities. Students will examine biological, psychological, social, cultural and environmental factors that influence mental health and wellbeing throughout individual lives. Similarly, students will develop an understanding between clinical, non-clinical and individuals' perspectives.
Students will also explore the services across public, private and third sectors working to improve, maintain and promote mental health and wellbeing.
All Applicants are required to have a minimum of the following: 96 UCAS tariff points from 3 A Levels or equivalent, e.g. CCC. Alternatively; Irish Leaving Certificate: BBCCC. Scottish Highers: BBCCC. BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma: DMM in a related subject. International Baccalaureate Diploma: 24 points. Foundation Year: Applicants require a minimum of 40 UCAS Tariff points. Candidates who meet the above entry criteria for either foundation and standard entry, but have been out of study for 5 years, will be required to pass an academic interview
Candidates must demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.0 (Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification.
All applicants are required to have at least 3 GCSEs at grade C, or grade 4, or above, including English and Maths.
